Yesterday, we discussed the specific steps to take in order to backup your WordPress Blog articles and comments. Today we’re taking you step by step into restoring your articles and comments back into your wordpress whether hosting your blog with the same or different hosting provider.

  • Log into your WP Admin Section
  • From your side bar navigation (on the left side) go to tools
  • Select the “Import” option
  • Select the blog file type (in this example we are selecting WordPress)
  • Locate the backup file you saved discussed in part 1
  • If you have images you would like to import in; then select the “Download and import file attachments “
  • Now simply click on the submit button and wordpress will perform the import
  • Congrats you wordpress blog articles are restored or transferred to a new hosting provider.

Special Note: If you’re switching hosting providers I would highly recommended cancelling your hosting service AFTER your have verified that everything has exported/imported properly to your satisifaction. If you need any assistance don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this posting for assistance.
